Human GLTSCR2 (glioma tumor suppressor candidate region gene 2), also known as BPTF-associated protein of 18 kDa (BAF180), is a nuclear protein encoded by the *GLTSCR2* gene located on chromosome 11. It is broadly expressed in tissues and implicated in chromatin remodeling through interactions with the BAF (SWI/SNF) and PBAF chromatin-remodeling complexes. Structurally, GLTSCR2 contains conserved N-terminal bromodomain-like and C-terminal coiled-coil motifs, which facilitate protein-protein interactions. Functionally, it regulates transcription, DNA repair, and chromatin organization. Studies suggest GLTSCR2 acts as a tumor suppressor by modulating p53-mediated pathways, impacting cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.
