**Background of NEFM Antibody**

Neurofilament medium (NEFM) is a subunit of neurofilaments (NFs), a class of type IV intermediate filaments critical for maintaining neuronal structure, axonal caliber, and intracellular transport. Neurofilaments consist of three subunits—light (NEFL), medium (NEFM), and heavy (NEFH)—which assemble into heteropolymers to form the neuronal cytoskeleton. NEFM, with a molecular weight of ~150 kDa, plays a key role in stabilizing axons and regulating signal transduction.

NEFM antibodies are immunological tools designed to detect and quantify NEFM proteins in research and diagnostics.
