**Background of CUBN Antibody**

Cubilin (CUBN), encoded by the *CUBN* gene, is a large transmembrane glycoprotein functioning as a multiligand endocytic receptor. Primarily expressed in polarized epithelia, such as the renal proximal tubules and small intestine, it plays critical roles in nutrient uptake (e.g., vitamin B12) and protein reabsorption. CUBN lacks transmembrane domains but anchors to cell membranes via interactions with megalin (LRP2) and the transmembrane protein AMN (amnionless), forming the cubam complex. This complex mediates ligand internalization via clathrin-coated pits.

CUBN antibodies are essential tools for studying its expression, localization, and function in physiological and pathological contexts.
