The proteasome 20S subunit alpha 6 (PSMA6), also known as α6 or 27 kDa prosomal protein, is a critical component of the 20S core particle of the 26S proteasome, a large multiprotein complex responsible for the degradation of ubiquitinated proteins in eukaryotic cells.
