The PKC iota/zeta (phospho-Thr412/410) antibody is designed to detect the activated forms of protein kinase C (PKC) isoforms ι (iota) and ζ (zeta), specifically phosphorylated at conserved threonine residues (Thr412 in PKCι and Thr410 in PKCζ). These atypical PKC isoforms belong to the PKC family of serine/threonine kinases, which regulate diverse cellular processes, including cell survival, proliferation, and polarity. Unlike conventional PKCs, atypical PKCs (aPKCs) are not dependent on calcium or diacylglycerol for activation but instead rely on phosphorylation and protein-protein interactions.
