Anaphase-Promoting Complex/Cyclosome subunit 1 (ANAPC1) is a core component of the Anaphase-Promoting Complex/Cyclosome (APC/C), a multi-subunit E3 ubiquitin ligase essential for cell cycle regulation. The APC/C orchestrates the ordered degradation of key cell cycle regulators, such as securin and cyclin B, by tagging them with ubiquitin chains for proteasomal degradation. This activity drives transitions through mitosis, particularly the initiation of sister chromatid separation during anaphase and exit from mitosis. ANAPC1. along with other core subunits (e.g., APC2.
