ASB2 (Ankyrin Repeat and SOCS Box Protein 2) is a member of the ASB protein family, characterized by a unique N-terminal ankyrin repeat domain and a C-terminal SOCS (Suppressor of Cytokine Signaling) box motif. The ankyrin repeats facilitate protein-protein interactions, enabling ASB2 to act as a substrate-recognition component in E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes. The SOCS box mediates binding to Elongin B/C, Cullin, and RING-finger proteins, forming a functional ECS-type E3 ligase complex that targets specific proteins for ubiquitination and subsequent proteasomal degradation.

Primarily expressed in hematopoietic tissues, ASB2 plays critical roles in regulating cell differentiation, apoptosis, and immune responses.
