背景信息

Recombinant human ERVFRD-1 protein is derived from the endogenous retroviral gene *ERVFRD-1* (also termed *Suppressyn*), a member of the human endogenous retrovirus (HERV) family HERV-W. Integrated into the human genome during evolution, HERVs constitute ~8% of human DNA and have been implicated in physiological and pathological processes.
