OR7G2 (Olfactory Receptor Family 7 Subfamily G Member 2) is a class A G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) belonging to the olfactory receptor (OR) superfamily. While olfactory receptors are primarily associated with odorant detection in the nasal epithelium, many ORs, including OR7G2, exhibit ectopic expression in non-olfactory tissues such as the brain, heart, and reproductive organs, suggesting potential non-canonical physiological roles.
