SLC45A2 (Solute Carrier Family 45 Member 2), also known as MATP or AIM1. is a transmembrane protein predominantly involved in melanin synthesis. It belongs to the sugar transporter family but primarily functions as a transporter mediating the uptake of substrates required for melanogenesis within melanosomes, specialized organelles in melanocytes.
