The AUP1 (Ancient Ubiquitous Protein 1) antibody is a tool used to study the AUP1 protein, a conserved eukaryotic protein involved in diverse cellular processes. AUP1 contains an N-terminal AID (AUP1-specific lipid-binding domain), a central ubiquitin-like (UBL) domain, and a C-terminal G2BR (Graf2-binding region), enabling interactions with lipids, ubiquitination machinery, and other proteins. It localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and lipid droplets (LDs), playing roles in ER-associated degradation (ERAD), lipid storage, and autophagosome formation.
