Nectin-3. a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, is a cell adhesion molecule encoded by the *NECTIN3* gene. It plays a critical role in forming and maintaining adherens junctions and tight junctions, primarily through homophilic or heterophilic interactions with other Nectins (e.g., Nectin-1) or afadin.
