The CALML5 antibody is designed to target CALML5 (Calmodulin-like protein 5), a member of the calmodulin family of calcium-binding proteins. CALML5. also known as calmodulin-like skin protein (CLSP), is a small, highly conserved 16 kDa protein predominantly expressed in epidermal tissues, particularly in the granular and cornified layers of the skin. It plays a critical role in regulating epidermal differentiation and barrier function by interacting with proteins involved in keratinocyte maturation and cornification. Studies suggest CALML5 is downregulated in psoriasis and other hyperproliferative skin disorders, highlighting its importance in maintaining skin homeostasis.
