背景信息

ALYREF (also known as THOC4) is a key component of the THO complex, a conserved eukaryotic protein complex involved in mRNA processing and export from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. As a nuclear protein, ALYREF primarily functions in coupling transcription with downstream mRNA export by binding to spliced mRNAs and recruiting export machinery. Structurally, it contains an RNA recognition motif (RRM) and interacts with components of the transcription/export (TREX) complex, including the mRNA export factor TAP/NXF1. ALYREF plays a critical role in ensuring mRNA stability, proper splicing, and efficient nuclear export, thus influencing gene expression regulation.
