The human Polymerase-Associated Factor 1 (PAF1) protein is a critical component of the PAF1 complex, a multifunctional transcriptional regulatory complex involved in diverse cellular processes, including transcription elongation, histone modification, mRNA surveillance, and chromatin remodeling.
