背景信息

SALL4 antibody is a diagnostic and research tool targeting the SALL4 protein, a member of the Spalt-like (SALL) transcription factor family. SALL4. characterized by zinc finger domains, plays critical roles in embryonic development, particularly in maintaining pluripotency of stem cells and regulating organogenesis. It is highly expressed in embryonic stem cells, germ cells, and certain progenitor cells but is typically silenced in most adult tissues.

In pathology, SALL4 antibody is widely used as a biomarker for germ cell tumors (GCTs), including seminomas, yolk sac tumors, and embryonal carcinomas. Its nuclear staining pattern in immunohistochemistry (IHC) helps distinguish GCTs from other malignancies. Additionally, SALL4 is aberrantly expressed in some somatic cancers, such as acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and certain carcinomas, suggesting its oncogenic potential.
