The HOXC8 protein, a member of the homeobox (HOX) family of transcription factors, plays critical roles in embryonic development, cell differentiation, and tissue patterning. HOX genes, organized into four clusters (A-D) in humans, encode DNA-binding proteins that regulate gene expression by binding to specific regulatory sequences. HOXC8. part of the HOX-C cluster on chromosome 12. contains a conserved 60-amino acid homeodomain that mediates DNA interaction. It is involved in axial skeleton formation, limb development, and hematopoietic cell regulation. Dysregulation of HOXC8 has been implicated in cancers, including breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer, where it may act as an oncogene or tumor suppressor depending on context.

Recombinant human HOXC8 protein is engineered using expression systems (e.g., *E. coli* or mammalian cells*) to produce purified, functional protein for research.
